Just Checking and Tunstall working in partnership
Just Checking and Tunstall are working in partnership to support health and social care assessments for reablement.

Just Checking Professional is a portable, easy-to-install assessment kit. It is used for people with dementia or memory problems who lives alone.
It can be difficult to make an assessment of a person with dementia if they live alone. Their account may not be reliable, and information from relatives and neighbours may be based on limited knowledge. It is not unusual for incidents to be exaggerated because people think that "something should be done".
Just Checking provides objective information and builds a more comprehensive picture of a person’s capabilities in their own home. People with dementia may still be holding on to long-ingrained daily routines. The system helps with the scheduling of appropriate care, so that independence is supported and not undermined with unnecessary visits. Practitioners say that it gives the person with dementia a new means to communicate their capabilities and real "voice" in the planning of their care.

More than half of all UK social services local authorities are using Just Checking for assessment and care planning. Members of the community care teams install Just Checking themselves - it really is that easy.
Nottinghamshire County Council has moved to a policy of no admission to residential care without a period of assessment using the Just Checking system.
Staffordshire County Council has gradually rolled out Just Checking to all these teams:
Jim Ellam explains how and why in this LocalGovTV video.
Herefordshire Council and PCT have pioneered a new mental health intermediate care service, resulting in 43% reduction in residential care admissions.
